CLIMATE CHANGE, 1ST NATIONWIDE SURVEY

The Earth has gone through massive changes in its 4.5 billion-year history. Its climate has naturally fluctuated between being very cold and covered in ice, or very hot. In the past 10,000 years the planet’s climate has become much more stable, leading to flourishing flora and fauna, and the subsequent population explosion of humankind. Climate change is one of the major problem now a days. ‘coz of it one of the middle and high school science teachers in US study and found out the teaching of climate change in American schools is seriously lacking.
Researchers gathered data from 1,500 public school teachers that distributed all 50 US states. They suggest that climate change denial is being taught in all classrooms and teachers must educate students properly about the human-caused global warming. The programs and policy director at the national Centre for Science Education said that “One in three teachers bring climate into the classroom, claiming that some scientist believed climate change is not caused by humans”. The survey found that many teachers allow that controversy in the classroom but they didn’t guide and give any scientific supported conclusion. Minda Berbeco one of the researches said that “There are some great climate education resources but many teachers don’t have time to fine and evaluate these materials. But instead many teachers hungry for professional development. To the said author of the study having pain to convince teachers to be on with their finding and not helping to slove the problem. Rosenau said “Teachers didn’t create the polarized culture war around climate change but they’re the key to ending this battle.
